Fire rating

On the date of the 23rd January 2009 The Diamond GRP Waterproofing System was designated the category "EXT.F.A.A." for its properties in relation to fire as defined in BS 476: Part 3: 2004.

In order to attain this designation the complete Diamond GRP waterproofing system must be used to the following specification consisting of:

  • 18mm Tongue and Groove Decking OSB3 or suitable Exterior Ply Diamond Roofing Resin applied at a rate of 1.5kg/m2;
  • Diamond Roofing Topcoat applied at a rate of 0.5kg/m2;
  • An exposed aggregate slate finish must be applied over the surface of the topcoat before it has cured at a rate of 2kg/m sq.;
  • Diamond 450g/m2 Chopped Strand Mat Reinforcement;
  • Diamond GRP Edge Trims;
  • Diamond Catalyst (between 1 & 4%).

These materials must be applied as specified in the Cure It installation manual.

Full details of the EXTERNAL FIRE EXPOSURE ROOF TEST used to determine this classification and the corresponding report are available on request. This report should be viewed in conjunction with BS 476: Part3: 2004.
