Detailed Application

Warm roof - Diamond onto Concrete or Asphalt

Application Instructions.

When installing a warm roof onto a concrete substrate, it is important that the existing concrete or asphalt layer is completely dry, clean andin good condition. Battens the same thickness as the insulation boards used should be solidly attached to the concrete at 300mm centres. The Sterling board should then be fixed to the battens using the same fixings as would normally be used. Ensure there are no gaps betweenthe layers. The laminate can then be laid over the top as normal.

For U value of <0.25 and 100m insulation specification should be 60 mm timber framewith insulation covered with 40mm over the top to ensure condensate does not remainon the bottom of the decking on top. Fix right through 40mm into timbers.

N.B. Warm roof insulation should be protected underneath by a vapour control layer(VLC). The VCL can be a specialist membrane (or polythene sheeting) or a sealed foil that is online free pokie laminated to the plasterboard or underneath the insulation. A VCL will protect the insulation from condensation that can come through the plasterboard and form inside the insulation (interstitially).
